Sam Hunt Makes Chart History With Latest Single “Make You Miss Me”
Sam Hunt became the first solo artist to top Billboard’s Country Airplay chart four times with singles from a debut album since the chart’s launch in January 1990.
Hunt’s latest single “Make You Miss Me” has reached No. 1 following the success of his other past singles that have been chart toppers such as “Take Your Time” “Leave the Night On” and “House Party.” All four of these songs are off of Hunt’s 2014 debut album, Montevallo.
“Make You Miss Me” was the single from Hunt’s fifth album and was co-written by Hunt, Josh Osborne and Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey. It follows his previous single, “Break Up in a Small Town,” which went to No. 2 on the chart.
Hunt is currently working on his follow-up to Montevallo and has admitted in an interview that he’s had a difficult time in being able to balance writing and touring.
In an interview with Rolling Stone Country, Hunt says that Snoop Dog has already pitched him songs for his next project.
“He came on the bus and played me a few songs,” Hunt says. “I was just flattered that he was interested enough to offer those opportunities and contribute. I love that, stereotypes aside, he loves music and genres don’t matter.”
