Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam Canceled
This weekend the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam was supposed to take place in Panama City Beach, Florida. Due to Tropical Storm Hermine, the three-day festival has been canceled. Eric Church, Jake Owen and Brad Paisley were amongst the few expected to be performing.
On the festival’s Facebook page they have said that the storm is expected to have moved on by Friday’s start, but there won’t be enough time to rebuild the festival venue safely. The construction of the venue takes a week to complete, and the stage and tents had to be taken down due to the anticipation of the 5 inches of rain and 40 MPH winds expected on Thursday.
Panama City Beach Mayor Thomas says:
“Safety is the first concern for our visitors, country music fans and the festival organizers and sponsors. We’re disappointed that we have had to cancel this weekend’s show, but hope all of the fans enjoy their weekend on the beach. We look forward to welcoming the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam back next year.”
According to a press release, tickets purchased through Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam ticket outlets are eligible for refunds. Fans can also leave their tickets in the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam ticket system and redeem them for next year as well. More information on ticket refunds will be posted on the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam website next week.
