Osyka Christmas Parade and Fest
The Osyka Civic Club is working really hard this year to make sure that everybody gets put in the Christmas spirit this year by putting on the best Christmas parade and festival ever!
On Saturday, December 10th the Christmas Festival will begin downtown Osyka at 10AM on Railroad Ave. with fun activities such as arts & crafts with lots of food vendors. The parade will then start at 4PM. There will be entertainment after the parade on stage at the Town Park. Later that night on Railroad Ave., the park will light up and will have “Santa Night” where Santa Clause comes out and allows for everyone to come out take pictures and sit on his lap. Lastly, bring your lawn chairs because at 7PM there will be a 15 min professional fireworks display!
- Saturday, December 10, 2016
- Festival: 10:00AM
- Parade: 4:00PM
- Fireworks: 7:00PM
The parade will be starting at 4PM with the line up starting up at 2PM at the Osyka Baptist Church with free entry to all who want to enter! Last year the parade was really successful with over 100 entries in the parade. This year floats, cars, trucks, fire trucks, schools, motorcycles, atv’s, and wagons are all accepted if there is not a “Santa” involved because the real Santa will be there on the Osyka fire truck! Throwing candy, toys, beads, etc is allowed. Children and youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. They can’t walk or ride alone.
There have been a few changes made:
- No house riders but only horses pulling wagons are accepted
- Only traditional christmas music is allowed from cars, trucks, floats, etc.
